The Sun conjoined the Galactic Equator on the Winter Solstice in 1999 with the Full Moon opposite.
Thus, the Earth, the Sun, the Moon, and the Galactic Equator were all in a straight line, ten days before
the date humanity identified as the marker of the Millennial transition.
This was, of course, a meaningless accident.

The last time this could have occurred was 6,500 years ago, at the dawn of civilization, when the axis
of the equinoxes conjoined the Galactic equator at the last quarter point of this 26,000 year cycle.
